Shannon is a third generation Nevadan with deep roots in the community and Democratic politics. In her four terms in the Nevada State Assembly, she has served on Government Affairs, Judiciary, Transportation, Growth & Infrastructure, Legislative Operations, Natural Resources, Revenue and chaired the Education Committee. She was a co-sponsor of the Trust Nevada Women Act and passionately believes that women's health care decisions should be between her and her doctor.
Shannon is the only Clark County Commission District C candidate with a variety of endorsements from diverse business and public service organizations, including The Nevada Association of Public Safety Officers, Plumbers, Pipefitters and Service Technicians Local 525, The Armed Forces Chamber, Veterans in Politics International, The Sierra Club, The Southern Nevada Building Trades Unions, Nevada NOW, and Planned Parenthood Votes Nevada.
